The spark protection strategies adopted for the terminal of the 14UD have been entirely successful and so were extended to the high energy stripper.  This uncovered some limitations to their implementation in a restricted space.  The lessons learned are relevant to the constricted space in the terminals of HVEC machines.  The general rules for spark protection will be described and how to survive when the rules just can’t fit.
