Is God omnipotent?

I certainly think the scriptures teach so. For example:

Alma 7:8-- "Behold, I do not say that he will come among us at the time of his dwelling in his mortal tabernacle; for behold, the Spirit hath not said unto me that this should be the case. Now as to this thing I do not know; but this much I do know, that the Lord God hath power to do all things which are according to his word."

D&C 61:1-- "1 Behold, and hearken unto the voice of him who has all power, who is from everlasting to everlasting, even Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end."

"able to do all things" and "all power" = means he can do anything, to me

There's always the classic argument against an omnipotent God: "Can God make a rock so big that He cannot lift it?"

To that I answer: of course God is limited by His nature. For example, being infinitely good, He cannot (or will not) choose to do evil. But omnipotence in this context means to me "able to do anything He wants".
