Physics 121                                                                   Final Examination

INSTRUCTIONS Answer all questions.  Insert your answers in the optical-scan answer sheet.  There are two kinds of questions on this exam.  Some are standard multiple choice questions with a selection of possible responses provided.  Answer these in the normal way.  Other questions are simple problems for which no selection of answers is provided.  On these questions, unless otherwise directed, enter the first significant figure of the absolute value of your answer in SI units.  Do not round; answer “0” only if an answer is exactly zero.  (Be sure you correctly code numerical answers on the answer sheet.  Coding errors will not be accepted as a basis for appeal.  Here are a few hypothetical answers with the proper number to be coded:  3265→3, 695→6 (truncate, do not round), 0.00473→4, 0(exactly)→0.)   Each question is worth 2 points for a total of 100 possible points.  There is no time limit (except Testing Center closing), but most of you will complete the exam in under 3 hours.  The exam is closed book except for the material on the formula sheet.  You should have brought scratch paper for your solutions.  Ask at the desk if you forgot.  You may use a non-programmed electronic calculator for numerical calculations.  When you are finished, please submit your amswer sheet, your scratch paper, your formula sheet and this copy of the exam to the exam proctors.  This examination will not be returned to you.
