| Abstract: |
The intention of this project was to “create a workflow and recipe for the prediction of Dakota/Cedar Mountain drilling targets in the Southern Uinta Basin that are supported by available data sets and which are economically viable. The intent was to demonstrate the utility of new technologies in the Uinta Basin that improve exploration results, and thereby yield positive socio-economic impacts for the State of Utah” (Bill Keach). Using the seismic attributes of curvature, spectral decomposition, waveform classification, as well as amplitude threshold statistics and gamma ray well data, we identified potential reservoirs and, therefore, drilling targets. This approach provides a helpful workflow for future exploration. |
