## Introduction to Mathematica

Here are the most recent set of Phys 230 labs. The files are Mathematica notebooks which must be opened via Mathematica. They contain descriptive information, worked examples and exercises to be completed by the students.

These labs are for Fall 2015.

- Lab 1 (introduction)
- Lab 2 (functions and lists)
- Lab 3 (plotting)
- Lab 4 (differentiation)
- Lab 5 (integration)
- Lab 6 (programming 1)
- Lab 7 (programming 2)
- Lab 8 (data processing)
- Lab 9 (optimization)
- Lab 10 (linear algebra)
- Lab 11 (complex analysis)
- Labs 12 & 13 - time for students to work on term projects
- Lab 14 - term project "show & tell". combined with this review: Lab 14 (final exam review). Here are the exam review solutions: exam review solutions, but I recommend you don't look at them until you've worked through the exam review problems on your own first.

Data files needed for some of the labs:

- Th000088.txt
- funwithstring.txt
- spinres.csv
- calibration.csv
- capacitor.csv
- linearfitfunction.csv
- datawitherrorbars.csv
- NGC6811-35.csv

Exams

Older sets of labs are archived here:

- Winter 2015 (Dr Colton)
- Fall 2014 (Dr Hess)
- Winter 2014 (Dr Colton)
- Fall 2013 (Dr Neilsen)

- Fall 2012 (Dr Colton)
- Winter 2012 (Dr Turley)

Prior to Fall 2008 this course used Maple instead of Mathematica. The older Maple-version of the course materials is also still available.
