Remote Desktop Server

The CSR office maintains a server containing many applications for faculty and student use from on and off campus. The software installed on the server is very simliar to that installed on the undergraduate lab computers in N212 and N337 and includes:

• Java SDK
• MATLAB
• Mathematica
• Maple
• Microsoft Office
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• OpenOffice
• WinEdt / MiKTeX
• Many others

By using the Remote Desktop client available on Windows, Linux, and Macintosh computers, you can work on the Remote server as you do any other computer. All of the documents stored on your P-Drive will also be available.

Notes:

• Do not store important files on the Remote Desktop server. Like lab computers, files stored on the Server may be deleted at any time. Always store important files on your P-Drive.
• Users are limited to 1,000 MB of space on the Remote Desktop server. If you need more space, use your P-Drive or a research share. If you have special circumstances which preclude these options, come talk to us.
