Burning a CD/DVD in Windows

The following instructions are for Nero 6 Ultra Edition and for Sonic 7 of which one should be installed. Other versions will be different, but the ideas are the same.

Nero

  • Select Nero Express from the start menu.



  • From the dropdown menu titled: Which recorder would you like to use?, select the proper device.
  • Select [DVD] for DVDs, or select [CD-R/RW] for CDs.



  • Select the type of project to be burned. This will most likely be a Data Disc.



  • A window to add files / folders to the project will appear. One can either drag and drop files / folders from the desktop or from an Explorer window, or click Add to select files.



  • Select files / folders and click Add.
  • When done adding files / folders, click Finished.



  • In the Disc name box, type a name for the CD / DVD.
  • To begin the burning process, click Burn.



  • A status window will show the progress of the burning.



  • A pop up window will indicate when the burning is complete.
  • Click OK.



  • Click Next.



  • To exit Nero, click Exit.
  • To burn the same CD / DVD, click Burn the same project again.
  • To start a new project, click New Project.


Sonic

  • Select RecordNow Plus! from the start menu.



  • Click the middle tab with the folder icon.



  • Click on Data Disc.



  • A window to add files / folders will appear. One can either drag and drop files / folders from the desktop or from an Explorer window, or click Add Files and Folders to select files / folders.
  • To begin burning the CD / DVD, click Burn.



  • A status window will show the progress of the burning.



  • To burn another CD / DVD or exit Sonic, click Done.
  • To burn the same CD / DVD, click Make Another.
