I had a great time and met some very interesting people this year. I continue to be amazed at the diversity of careers that our alumni have pursued. I also ran into a few fellow students from when I was an undergraduate at BYU. We had a great turnout, and everything went smoothly.
The reception was great --- our students put together some great posters, and I'm told that the food was exceptional (there were so many people to talk to, I only had a chance to grab one quick bite on the way to the planetarium show).
The planetarium show in our new expanded and improved planetarium was terrific. Our thanks to the undergraduates who put the show on for us. The new planetarium is a fabulous facility, and if you didn't get to see it this year I hope that you can get another chance soon. It is very entertaining (and educational too).
The alumni dinner was pretty good, with excellent live music, and the Homecoming Spectacular was the best one I've ever seen. They did a tribute to Joseph Smith, and I was amazed at how well they were able to tie everything together without limiting the performers or make the individual numbers seem forced. It was smooth and very well done. We have some fabulous performing artists in our undergraduates.
I hope to see many new and familiar faces at our homecoming activities next year. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list so that you will get the announcement about next year's activities. For now, take a look at a few pictures of the reception/poster session. I hope to see you all next year.
